My foot is starting to have good bone regrowth and so this past Wednesday the doctor told me that I could ditch the boot. What glorious words to hear. I have now been trying to learn how to re-walk while wearing two regular shoes. It has been a bit awkward...and at times I find my self tripping. And there is the issue of my foot really not fitting into too many of my shoes. Unfortunately, the bone/joint decided it did not want to heal and surgery was in order.Time was running out as I will soon be without insurance and my deductible happened to be met. Last Thursday I opted to have a pin placed and assist the healing process along.

...I married the love of my life and we only had our future to look forward to. It was a small, simple wedding in a church gymnasium (don't ask how we wound up here) surrounded by family and friends. Eighteen years ago today, I gave birth to a wonderful little baby boy. I remember how happy I was to find out that we were expecting....and after nine months of a somewhat hard pregnancy to hold him in my arms. How beautiful my little Nathaniel J. was.

Today was the big day for Central High School's class of 2011. It was definitely bittersweet as the day lead  up to the graduation ceremony. Since our grad time was 6pm, we had a luncheon with family and friends and then dessert to end the day.

It is six days away from Nathaniel's high school graduation. I am filled with all sorts of emotions, but have contained them well thus far. I am amazed at how fast this year went by (and almost 18 years for that matter). Far too fast for this mother, as I reflect on the trials and great memories that the year provided.

The way he went about could have been a bit different...but he is 17. But this was to be the beginning of the drama. Nathan, mom and I left and found out today.

On my actual birthday, Steve and Nathaniel were away taking care of college business. I was left to entertain myself. Not an easy feat for someone who hates being alone. Today was Nathans official official last swim meet of his career. It was a non qualifier meet that had to be rescheduled due to inclement Texas weather. I had seen a similar picture of this cute apron posted on my moms wall in her sewing room and knew that I wanted to make one. We did not have a pattern, but fortunately, I have a very talented mother who was able to help me create this project.  I am happy to say that I did about 98 percent of the sewing and crafting involved.

Nathan decided this past spring which colleges he wanted to attend. We toured each campus and he was able to gain a good feel and the difference between the two. The school year started and he submitted his applications......and the waiting began.

This evening we went to celebrate Axel's third birthday (real day is November 29th). Toy Story and Buzz Light Year was the theme. He was one lucky kiddo and had lots of friends and family to watch him open his presents and blow out his candles. It was fun to watch him this year and to see how he has grown....as the idea has sunk in....and he did not need to be prompted on the present thing.

The mopping, sink and mirror cleaned and rack behind the toilet back in place. Ready to be fully used.  I chose not to remove the baseboard in the bath and laundry rooms....as to not want to add that to the mix as well. I am actually quite pleased with the way it turned out.

Nathan got together with some of the young men in our ward last night for some "friendly" male bonding. They came together for a evening of competitive gaming using air soft pellets and guns.....

Lets just say that... Nathan obviously lost.... based on the fact that his eye could have been shot out.....

and yes...he was wearing protective goggles....they shattered.

And it has drove me CRAZY. This has bothered me more than the time we went without carpet/flooring in the rest of the house.

Yesterday was the last day for Grandma, Chris and Josh's visit here with us....so my parents labored for a day and whipped up a delicious BBQ. It was a very enjoyable evening with the family and friends who were here. For a few it was a repeat visit, but for the rest of us it was a new experience. Nathan and Pam were able to miss school and come and join in the fun. Having more than would fit in one car...we drove to the park in two vehicles....for the tour Nathan, Pam, Josh and I rode in the back of dads truck. Steve and I were invited to a party. There was trunk or treat on Halloween Eve and family visiting from Georgia to enjoy the festivities. The only downfall is that teenagers don't receive a lot of candy and that means not much for me.

We drove up to meet the kids and watch the meet. Upon meeting some friends at the hotel, we left to meet up with our kids, who were bored and cranky at the Coaches Restaurant. I personally thought the food was good for a college hub.

This morning I went to my first Zumba class. I found this class to be a little easier than the cardio-kickboxing that I attended a couple of weeks ago. I have come to the conclusion though, that one should really be coordinated for these classes. Tonight I finally conquered making a button for my blog with success.
 Not necessarily an easy task for a not-so-smart HTML girl 
The challenge drove me crazy for the past month. 
Well, not the entire month, as I became too frustrated getting the code right that I had to step away for a while.
