house under construction

At IKEA loading up dads truck. This doesn't give the finished load...as we had Axel in the backseat along with eight large foam bundles and the three of us in the front seat.

In the entry way after the carpet and pad was removed. finishing taking up the carpet tack.

My wonderful helper (Damon) aching to destroy my house and continually letting me know that a wrecking ball would be easier.

I was hoping that you could see my sweat.
Steve and I have been talking about taking out the carpet and replacing it with laminate for a year or so now. We came into a little extra home repair money and the time has come. I decided that this was the day that I was going to start the project....and so the first round of carpet came out. Steve starts back to another semester of school, so dad is going to help me with this adventure. Laminate floors will be a first for the both of us.

VROOM VROOM

Steve had promised Nate that he would give him the sentra or a lump sum of money towards a car when the time came. Well Nathan opted to sell the sentra and buy a car on his own. You can see the delight on his face with the profits from selling Steve's old car.

bye bye sentra. you just were not meant for a cool teen guy to drive

Hello 76 Chevy Nova. Now who can say that this is not one cool muscle car. With a little work this will definitely turn some heads. A new adventure in this house is close to beginning.

His junior year begins

I have been horrible at getting pictures of first days of school. This year I was determined to snap one and then my son snuck out to quick as he hoped in his friends car. That was okay as I got one as I was driving to pick him up. His look says, mom put the camera away. Never! It should be a fun year. Driving and dating are here.

Nathaniel and church

Nathaniel turned 16 this summer and that meant he was now old enough to be ordained to a priest at church. This day kept getting postponed to other incidents in life. Today was the day that Steve was able to ordain Nathan. The blessing Nathaniel received was wonderful and had many words that I believe that Nathan was meant to hear at this time in his life. My heart felt full as I listened to these words that Steve said to our son. I hope as always that Nathaniel will take these to heart and be the example that he is meant to be. I sure love these two guys!

Oscar gets baptized!

Today was Oscars big baptism day. He turned 8 in July and was just waiting for grandma and papa to get home from their mission. They arrived home yesterday just in time. Oscar loves his "crazy" uncle Steve and wanted him to baptize him (but did not want to hurt papas feelings). Luckily papa was not hurt and it was a nice baptismal service. You could feel Oscars excitement as Steve confirmed Oscar a member of the church.

Here is Oscar and Steve after the baptism
